We are proud of our diversity and we do not discriminate on the basis of personal identities.
Our Past
Alumni of the Telluride House, both students and faculty members, include many notable academics, politicians and scientists. Among those are two World Bank presidents, four Nobel Prize laureates, and many academics in various disciplines. Frances Perkins, the first woman appointed to the U.S. Cabinet, described her time at the house as “the happiest phase of her life.” Richard Feynman, a Nobel Prize in Physics laureate, said that Telluride was where he did the work that earned him the Prize and that he “looked back at those days with nostalgia.”
Our Present
Telluride Scholars represent a wide range of backgrounds and interests. Current housemembers’ areas of origin span five continents; our academic departments include over 20 different majors. Throughout the year, we also host visiting scholars and artists from across the world for stays ranging from several days to an entire year.
